OnTime GO is a mobile application that is independently developed and maintained. I am committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information when you use the application.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

We may collect information you voluntarily provide locally on your device, such as:

  • Favorite stations and routes (stored locally on your device)
  • App preferences and settings (stored locally on your device)
  • Feedback and support communications (only if you contact us)

Automatically Collected Information

We may automatically collect certain information, including:

  • Anonymous, randomly generated device identifiers for app functionality
  • Basic app usage analytics to improve our services
  • Error logs and crash reports to fix bugs and improve stability

Subscription and Purchase Information

If you purchase a subscription, the purchase is processed by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google). We do not receive or store your full payment card details. To manage subscriptions and entitlements, we use RevenueCat, which may process:

  • Purchase and subscription status information (e.g., active/expired, renewal state, product identifiers)
  • App user identifiers used to link your entitlement to your device/account within the app
  • Device and app identifiers needed for subscription management and fraud prevention

Server Data Processing

Our server processes requests for GO Transit information but does not store or retain any personal user data. When you request transit information, our server:

  • Receives your request for specific transit data
  • Fetches the requested information from Metrolinx/GO Transit's public APIs
  • Returns the transit information to your device
  • Does not store, log, or retain any personal information from these requests

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide real-time GO Transit information by fetching data from Metrolinx APIs
  • Improve app functionality and user experience
  • Provide customer support
  • Analyze app usage to enhance features
  • Ensure app security and prevent misuse
  • Manage subscriptions and entitlements (via RevenueCat and the App Store / Google Play)

Important: Your personal data and app usage patterns are not sent to or stored on our servers. All personalization data (favorites, preferences) is stored locally on your device.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share limited information with trusted service providers only as necessary to operate the app and provide subscriptions (for example, RevenueCat and the app store providers). These providers process data on our behalf and according to their own privacy policies.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect any information processed through our services. Since we don't store personal user data on our servers, your privacy is protected by design. Your personal preferences and favorites are stored securely on your device.

Data Retention

We do not retain personal user information on our servers. Transit data requests are processed in real-time and not stored. Any personal data (favorites, preferences) is stored locally on your device and can be deleted by uninstalling the app or clearing app data.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal information (stored locally on your device)
  • Correct any inaccurate information in the app
  • Delete your personal data by uninstalling the app or clearing app data
  • Contact us regarding any privacy concerns

Third-Party Services

OnTime GO may use third-party services to operate core features:

  • RevenueCat (subscription management): used to validate purchases and manage entitlements across devices. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy: RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play (in-app purchases): purchases are processed by Apple/Google and are subject to their privacy practices.
  • Metrolinx / GO Transit public APIs (transit information): OnTime GO fetches real-time transit information from GO Transit/Metrolinx public APIs. We are not affiliated with GO Transit or Metrolinx. Our server acts as an intermediary to provide you with this information but does not store any of your personal data or request history.

Children's Privacy

OnTime GO is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this site and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
